One of my “30something” clients came to me because she wanted to know, “What I want to do when I grow up”. Of course she was being funny – but also serious.
“What is my Life Purpose?” is an important question because it allows you the opportunity to fulfill your dreams, to make a difference in the world, and to become fulfilled.
So, how do you figure this out?
The simple answer is to know the following:
What do I love to do? (pull out a piece and begin)
What do you care most deeply about?
Once you know this, it’s a matter of how (what capabilities do you have? What capabilities do you need to develop? ..and so forth). I don’t want to sound flippant because often, the simplest answers are the most difficult to accomplish. It’s not uncommon for clients to spend a few months of coaching working on this. And it’s well worth the time; when you care enough to create the life you want, this is the foundation.
